While at SIPA, we attended the keynote “Using Data to Drive Your Content and Marketing Strategy,” which was presented by Nikesh Desai, CEO of InvestingChannel. In the presentation, he shared how data can be used to impact and inform strategies for content creation, product marketing and owned, earned and paid media. He discussed how it can drive deeper audience insight and engagement with regard to content development.
Here are some of the stats he gave:
- For a Fortune 1000 company, a 10 percent increase in data accessibility will result in $65MM+ additional net income.
- 73 percent of organizations have already invested or plan to invest in big data.
- Poor data can cost businesses 20 to 35 percent of their operating revenue.
- By 2020, there will be 50bn connected devices.
