Our hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs, are headed to the Superbowl this weekend. In celebration, we asked a few members of our team to share their favorite memories, football snacks and more. Find their responses below.

Tell me about your favorite Chiefs’ memory.
Tony Prettyman, Director of Software Development: My favorite memories are watching the games at my grandparents’ house growing up. Families would show up, and we’d watch the game on his tv with the sound down and the radio on, so we could hear Kevin Harlan announce the games (late 80’s early 90’s). Afterward, it would turn into afternoon flag football games or playing 10 point pitch.

Lorna Fenimore, President & COO: This isn’t my favorite, but it is my most memorable. Lin Elliott missed the field goal in the 1995 game against the Colts. It was a freezing cold night game, and that just added insult to injury. The next day, the radio station in our building set up goal posts in the parking lot and had try-outs to find a new kicker to replace Elliott.

Nancy Spear, CTO: My favorite memory is when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 1970. I went to the parade.

Josh Brewington, Director of Client Services: When I was a kid, my best friend’s dad had season suite tickets to see the Chiefs. He also had won special field passes and pre-game locker room access for a home game against the San Francisco 49ers. The QB at the time was Joe Montana, and I got to shake his hand. I met Derrick Thomas (who was gigantic to a 13-year-old kid) and Neil Smith (who was even more gigantic). We were so excited about meeting the players that we weren’t paying attention to our escort who was leading our group onto field seats and ended up roaming the Chiefs sideline for part of the first quarter before security finally wrangled us and took us to our field seats, where we proceeded to heckle the great Jerry Rice after every terrific catch he made. The Chiefs won 24-17 after some Montana magic, and I didn’t sleep for two days after that. I was so pumped!

What are your favorite Superbowl snacks?
Alex Eberle, Software Developer: Cookies are my favorite game-watching snack.

Lacy Vigil, Customer Service Representative: I like snacks with a dip. Cheesecake. Wings. Any food that someone else makes. I’m tired of cooking!

Josh: KC BBQ and KC craft beer!

What have been some of the most memorable ads you’ve seen while watching the Superbowl?
Lacy: Budweiser ads. I love the Clydesdales.

Lorna: I loved the e-trade talking baby commercials!

Josh: I always enjoy any car insurance ads.

Do you have any gameday superstitions? If so, what are they?
Nancy: If the Chiefs are losing, I won’t watch them; I will only listen to them from another room.

Who is your favorite Chiefs player?
Tony: My favorite is Derrick Thomas. My son is Jackson Thomas Prettyman, named after Bo Jackson and Derrick Thomas. My wife liked it too for the JT initials (Justin Timberlake). I told her when we had a daughter she should be named Bo Derek. That suggestion was vetoed.

Lorna: Mahomes – no surprise. He’s just a class act that handles himself so well, considering how young he is and how famous he is.

How did your fantasy football team do this year?
Lacy: I came in last. We don’t discuss this.

Tony: Which one? I won the Multipub league (feel free to ask any Multipub employees who won…), finished 2nd in my family league, and made the playoffs in my K-State alumni league.

Lorna: Well, I lost the Multipub league. (I had a conflict, so Josh drafted for me. It’s all his fault!) But, I won first place in my other league!!!

Nancy: I came in a disappointing 4th after leading all year.
