V14.19 - V14.21

SET-UP: EXTID1 and EXTID2 are two, new, fully indexed fields added to the Multipub (MP) schema to help better manage unique identifiers between MP and ancillary systems, such as WooCommerce, Salesforce, etc. These fields can house the account and order numbers from the ancillary system and allow MP users to search using these fields in MP.

REPORTS: Personal Information Report to support GDPR

MARKETING: Create Activities: New functionality to mass create activities by Query or List Code.

ACCOUNTING: Automatic Renewal Audit Report: new report to help check if all orders that should be selected for automatic renewal are being selected.

ACCOUNTING: Pre-Processing File for Automatic Renewals: Generate an output file for sending emails or documents to orders that are scheduled for automatic renewal.

IMPORT TRANSACTIONS: Major enhancement here to now allow cancellations to be processed via Import Transaction too. Please call Support for more information and training.

V14.17

DESIGN ASCII: Design ASCII (DYOA) has been upgraded to now support Shipping File outputs. This means effective with v14, users are now empowered to select, modify, and create custom Shipping File layouts in the same manner as Invoice, Renewal, and Issue file layouts are managed.

IMPORT TRANSACTIONS (formally known as WebASCII):

  • The standard import layout will continue to be supported, but users will have added functionality to allow custom import layouts similar to Design ASCII (DYOA.) Depending on the type of transactions being imported, Multipub will automatically create the layout of fields required for importing the type of transactions that are to be imported. Additionally, clients will be able to
add additional fields if they wish to import more than just the required fields.
  • Multipub will now allow users two additional transaction types that were previously not available in Web ASCII. Transaction Type “O” will update the orders table and Transaction Type “Z” will allow users to overwrite existing data to “blank” (meaning, clear existing data from currently populated fields)

QUERIES:

  • V14 has been enhanced to allow UNLIMITED fields to be exported in the query output files. In the past, users were limited to between 75-80 fields depending on data, but effective with v14, clients can export an unlimited amount of fields in their query output layouts.
  • V14 has been enhanced to allow automated date selections of “Last 7 Days” , “Last 30 Days” and Last 365 Days – this in addition to the recently created “Today” field that was implemented in the prior release. This allows users to no longer need to update date ranges in certain queries that use the same standard date range criteria. These fields will auto-calculate so users will no longer need to update the queries.

RATE CODES: Length has been increased from 4 characters to 8 characters. There is no zero padding.

REPORTS: Circulation Press Run has been completely revamped and now provides historical audience counts across various audience pools. Contact Support for more information.

NEW REPORTS: Renewal Rate Report will utilize the new Product Group functionality (see XREF 56204). This means responses will be calculated using Product Groups. If products are not part of product groups, then the report will simply default to product and thus report by product as it does currently.

SET-UP:

  • Multipub has been changed to a UTF-8 database, which now allows foreign characters to be accepted. UTF-8 is the dominant character encoding for the web and accounts for over 85% of all web pages as of September 2015.
  • Users will now be empowered to select additional fields to track changes and updates in the Change Log beyond the standard MP field selection. Meaning, if users wish to begin tracking changes to more fields, they can add those additional fields themselves.

NEW SET-UP:

  • Effective with v14.17, Multipub will only support Single Sign On which will require all clients to provide their Windows Login information to MP.
  • UserID field has been increased to 30 characters due to the implementation of Single Sign On with v14.17
  • Multipub has been changed to a UTF-8 database which now allows foreign characters to be accepted. UTF-8 is the dominant character encoding for the web and accounts for over 85% of all web pages as of September 2015.

PRODUCT GROUPS: New functionality that allows various products to be incorporated into a group for renewal reporting. This functionality allows clients to build a product group and have any new order for those products in the group be reported as a renewal. The concept here is that you can now create a product line, and if a sub switches from one product to another, Multipub will mark that order as a renewal.

SUSR FIELDS: SUSR’s now are able to store URL’s as a data type allowing users to create fields to store LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and other needed links to websites.

TRACKING CODES: New field created to the NACCT table to store a URL to link directly to the shipping site (ie FedEx, UPS).

UTILITIES:

  • A new utility will allow users to manage their database size without having to request purging from Multipub. Utility allows users to delete old inactive subs and all the related data (orders, opens, order hist etc)
  • New utility allows users to delete comment records prior to a given date.
  • Multipub now offers users the ability to correct timing errors related to Renewal Campaigns. If timing is off due to incorrect effort dates being entered by a user, users can now correct these errors without requiring Multipub to programmatically correct the dates. Contact Support for more information.

V12.47

ARTICLES USAGE: MultiPub now allows users to import usage from their CMS directly into MultiPub for viewing under Subscriber Inquiry/Subscriber View. Import functionality allows date and number of views by content topic to be imported. Activity of usage can also be queried. Implementation would require customization and a quote. Please contact us for further information.

BAR CODES: MultiPub’s V12 front end will now allow renewal notices to have barcodes which would output to the renewal file for printing on renewal efforts. Data Entry would simply need to scan the bar code, and then, all subscriber and order information would automatically populate on screen eliminating much manual data entry.

EMAIL ONLY SUBSCRIBERS: Multipub now provides clients with the ability to enter subscribers that only have a valid email address. All dupe detection is based on the email address. The set-up controls currently need to be configured by our team. This set-up would allow subscribers that have no street address, but do have an email to be entered manually via Data Entry or imported en mass via Web ASCII. Contact us for further information.

FIXED WIDTH CLIENTS: Clients that still use custom Fixed Width files will need to check all outputs due to field lengths being increased. Fields are now 80 characters. A best practice would be to simply move to ASCII Comma Delimited files.

NAME & ADDRESS FIELDS: Subscriber Name and Address fields have been increased to 80 characters to better manage international addresses. Fields are FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, FIRM, ADDRESS ONE, ADDRESS TWO, and ADDRESS THREE. Numerous “Print” versions of reports have been been updated to accommodate this change.

PASSWORDS: MultiPub now supports Complex Password logic for all NEW Users. New Passwords must contain a combination of three of the following categories (Uppercase, Lowercase, Numeric, Character) and be at least 8 characters in length. Existing passwords will not prevent access to the system. As stated, this only applies to NEW users being set-up.

V12.46

CONTRACT MODULE: The Contracts module allows orders to be tracked/processed as a group withing a contract. Orders may be renewed, invoiced, suspended,
cancelled and more based on contract settings. Contract inquiry shows contract information, as well as order summaries for a given contract by: order, product, invoice, contract. Please see Contract Module documentation.

ALTERNATE DELIVERY: Alternate Delivery Load Alternate Delivery records can now be created, modified and inactivated via a new import utility. Subscribers
must have a valid order for the product before ADLV records can be created. See Alternate Delivery Import documentation

V12.45

FUTURE SHIP DATE: Allows users to enter a future ship date for a customer’s order being shipped out of the shipping module.

EXPORTS: New progress bar added that will display as data is being exported to show status of export, and additional output options include .csv, .xml and .xlsx.

EVENT MODULE: New Event Module now available/documentation forthcoming.

QUERIES: Added the following fields to select from on queries: Active Paid(def typ A ord.stat < 05 ), Active NP( def Typ B ord.stat < 05 ), Active Comp( def Typ C ord.stat < 05), Expiring (ord.eiss = sc.eiss)

SALES TAX: Added option to include by product tax exempt, up to a given sales amount cap.

COUNTRY SENSITIVE PRICING: Multipub offers the ability to restrict pricing schemes based on the geographic location of a subscriber.

INTEGRATED SIGN ON: New integrated, single sign on functionality

NEW SHIPPING PROCESS: Flexible coding processes to ensure user only ships desired products. New and revised reports included to help monitor the shipping process. Documentation attached.
